News

See the message from our NEW president in the latest newsletter. We have a new VP as well.  See the newsletter page for details plus more!

A newsletter archive button has been added to the newsletter page. This was suggested by a member who wanted to see a previous version.  Good idea...thanks for the suggestion!

Also find some great entertainment info on the newsletter page plus even more in the PDF version.

......plus trips, events and of course the most important "In Memoriam" section. See newsletter for details.

You may have heard about the fire at the Cottle Road Site.  Pictures are in the PDF Version of the newsletter.

Here is a link that shows several views of the San Jose Site as seen from the air

Here are a few  PDF files showing the changes being made to the site... SJ Site History and Plans, Customer Briefing Center, The Homestead.

Due to changes at the San Jose Cottle site (like consolidations and building being torn down) we have disconnected the phone number. Please use email to contact us at qcclub@us.ibm.com.

The newsletter is obviously the most important section to read on this site and is updated quarterly. It is available online and is available for download in PDF format.  There is a new archive section in case you want to see a previous version. A free Acrobat PDF reader is available. I will include in this "News" section any other special notices or noteworthy items that officers would like to bring to your attention or items members may contribute.  So check back often.

Here is a handy link to the San Jose Retirement Club Website

Dale Fisk contributed a very interesting article he wrote on punch cards, (PDF format), and a link to the
Columbia University Computing History web site.  Very interesting stuff!

This may bring back memories....."Old Iron"
